Seeds: Inclement Weather and ShippingUpdated 16 days ago
To protect your seeds from weather-related damage, it’s important to bring your package indoors as soon as possible after delivery—especially during cold, wet, or freezing conditions.
🧊 Cold Weather Risks
Warm-weather seeds (e.g., tomatoes, peppers, beans):
These can be damaged by extended exposure to sub-freezing temperatures. Cold can reduce germination rates or harm seed viability.Cold-stratified seeds (e.g., wildflowers, perennials):
These are naturally tolerant of cold, but moisture is still a concern. If the package gets wet and moisture reaches the seed packets, issues like mold or premature germination can occur.
🚨 What to Do If Your Package Gets Wet
If your package was exposed to rain or snow and the seed packets feel damp or wet inside:
Plant the seeds right away if possible—wet seeds may start to germinate or rot
You can attempt to dry them out, but this isn’t always successful

📦 Delivery Responsibility & Best Practices
Please note:
We are not responsible for packages damaged due to prolonged exposure after delivery. It is the customer's responsibility to:
Provide a safe, protected location for delivery
Bring packages inside promptly
Avoid leaving deliveries outside overnight or during heavy rain/snow
If you won’t be home, we recommend leaving delivery instructions with your carrier to drop the package in a dry, shaded, or covered area.
